Distinctives of NHBC
- Biblical Preaching: We believe God's Word is best understood with verse-by-verse, expository preaching. That is why we teach through books of the BIble, being careful to properly understand the context while making relevant application to everyday life.
- Engaging Worship: We believe that worship should engage the heart and the mind. That is why we use a combination of current songs that are theologically rich, together with older hymns of the faith in a more modern style.
- Deep Relationships: We believe it is essential for believers in Christ to have close relationships with one another for edification, accountability, and spiritual growth, especially in an ever-growing age of isolation. That is why we encourage believers to engage with one another in one of our Life Groups.
- Community Impact: We believe it is important for God’s people to serve the community in which God has placed us. That is why we connect our people with local ministries and opportunities to make an impact by meeting practical needs in Christ's name.
- Global Outlook: We believe the local church is specifically tasked with getting the gospel both to the neighborhoods and the nations. That is why we encourage faithful praying for, intentional giving to, strategic partnerships with, and active participation in international ministries.
